The “Minute to Win It” show premiered on March 14, 2010 and ever since that day, many people have attempted very challenging but not impossible tasks in an attempt to win prizes and the bragging rights that go with being a minute to win it champion.

General Rules and Setup

Minute to win it games are simple to setup. They all have just one simple rule –


Instead of playing just one you could make it more interesting by picking a few games and allocate points for each challenge (i.e. 10 points for each complete challenge, 5 points for competing).

Then at the end the person or group with the highest accumulated points determines the winner!

1. Bobblehead

This is one of those games that might even be more entertaining for the onlookers rather than the participants. Bobblehead is played by attaching a pedometer to the forehead of the players and making movements, so that the number reaches 200.


It should be played in pairs so you would just have to reach at least 100 moves each. Bobblehead is not only for teens but the older folks are welcome to join in too and have fun. One things is sure, there’ll be TONS OF LAUGHTER.

2. Penny Hose

Penny hose is a game that needs dexterity and skill. Two coins will be dropped at the end of each leg of a pantyhose, and what the player has to do is to retrieve them both with both hands working on its own. Sounds interesting. Just watch the tutorial video and you will see that it is not as easy as it looks as even adults struggle to reach the coins.


Anyone who reaches and retrieve the two coins inside the pantyhose within 60 seconds or less wins the game. 

3. By A Thread

Many minutes to win it games still require some element of patience for you to achieve success but this game which needs a steady hand to thread 10 needles with decreasing eyelet sizes will require the ability to stay calm in a pressure situation.


Remember you have just 60 seconds to complete the task. 

4. Stack Attack

Stack Attack is similar to the usual stacking cups, and you can get them at a toy store. The major difference is that these cups are made from lightweight standard plastic. Sure you might think stacking cups is easy but it’s not when the stack gets that high. Then precision and balance will be an issue with this kind of cups.


In order to win the player must stack the cups into a pyramid shape and then deconstruct the cups back into a tower of cups within a minute. 

5. Junk In The Trunk

Junk in the trunk also requires skill even without seeing.  The thing is an empty tissue box is tied onto the back with five ping-pong balls in it.  Then you start shaking to empty the box fast!


The goal here is to let all the balls out by jumping shaking, running, or whatever method you wish as long as you do not use your hands before 60 seconds elapses. 

6. Sticky Balls

This game is majorly about physics as it involves gaining the perfect amount of momentum as contestants roll standard glass marbles across a table-top for it to stick on double sided tape located at the edge of the table-top.


The marble has to be thrown with the right speed to be able to stick or it roll over and drop.  And after 1 minute the player who has the most marble stuck wins. 

7. Volcano

Peradventure you do not know, soda and mint candy react when mixed and so this game aims to achieve that same reaction. When the drop the mint successfully into the soda, it makes the soda burst out from the bottle in the form of a volcano.


The player will have stand on an elevated surface and try to drop a single mint into the small opening of any soda bottle. If he/she can achieve the reaction within 60 seconds, the player wins the game. 

8. Tipsy

Tipsy is also a great game for teaching the elements of physics as players are to balance a soda can on its tiny bevelled edge. This is one of the hardest minute to win it games for teens. The hard thing about this game is that the soda may be given to players full and it is almost impossible to balance it when either empty or full. So asides from exercising patience to get the required balance, players also need to estimate and work with the amount of liquid required in the container.


Whoever balances 3 soda cans to win the game.

9. Scary Cherry

Here three cherries are hung on a long tiny piece of string, then the player needs perfect good accuracy in getting enough momentum by using his breath to blow and fling the cherry into his mouth and then eat it. In this game you are forced to exercise control as you cannot go over a certain area.


The player that successfully eat all 3 cherries win the game. 

10. Spin Doctor

This game is not as easy as it seems on the blueprint because it requires precision and intense concentration. Players need just the right amount of force as they use the tip of their fingers to stop 10 spinning coins, so they remain upright.


The player that stops all 10 coins and they still remain upright within 60 seconds win the game. 

11. Johnny Apple Stack

Do you know that Apples are all unique just like our fingerprints? Meaning no 2 apples are alike. In Johnny Apple stack, all players need to stack five apples with different groves on top of each other.


The stack must hold for at least three seconds on its own for you to be declared the winner. Remember, you have only 1 minute to complete this challenge. This game test the youngster patience and persistence in accomplishing tasks. 

12. The Chandelier

Playing games helps as you never know what lessons you might get from playing. The chandelier is the perfect example of that as it tests a person’s capability for balance, estimation and control the chandelier to win. it looks simple but is tougher than it seems.


The task is to create an inverted chandelier up to five levels starting with one soda can with a paper plate at the top, followed by two soda cans and so on in 60 seconds. 

13. Caddy Stack

Caddy Stack is another games that requires precision, where the players need to analyse golf balls and the ball dimples. And for a golf ball to be stable it needs to be leaning on its tiny dimple, and three golf balls will have to be stacked on each another to win caddy stack.


With 60 seconds play time, players have only 20 seconds to analyse carefully the golf balls and perfectly place each golf ball on each other. This game is truly toughest most times for teens to score a point. 

14. Elephant March

This game uses combines momentum, timing and accuracy as the player will wear a pantyhose over their heads fitted with a ball at the end. Then he is to knock over bottles on both sides one after the other and in the correct order.


The player has to knock down all the bottles within 60 seconds to win the game.

15. This Blows

This game needs teens who are physically fit, or to be more precise kids with powerful lung as it will be an added advantage to them.


Players have just 60 seconds to blow up a balloon and use the air to push cups over. They are allowed to re-blow the balloon as much as they want until all the cups are tipped over. 

16. Rapid Fire

If you are good in shoot accurately, then this game should be easy–peaasy. Rapid fire is played by tipping over cans stacked like in a carnival and you will have to use rubber bands to shoot it.


Players get an unlimited amount of rubber bands and therefore must use them to force the cans to fall. Within 60 seconds, you have to shoot down as many soda cans. 

17. Speed Eraser

Speed Eraser is all about using the rubber (eraser end) of any pencil and making it bounce against a surface and lands into a glass. In speed eraser, the very thing that is supposed to help you win (the rubber on the pencil) is also the same thing that will make you fail because the pencil length is the biggest disadvantage.


Within 60 seconds a player has to bounce a pencil into a glass to win the game. 

18. Keep the Change

This game was derived from the magic act where a tablecloth is pulled out from under the cutlery, and everything stays intact!  This game requires fast hands to swipe any dollar bill that is under a coin stack. The coin stack is balanced on the rim of a glass and make sure the coins stay balanced after removing it. This game is also hard when compared to others and most frustrating too.


Try removing the dollar bill out from under the coin stack without toppling the coins within 60 seconds. 

19. Nimble Thimble

Nimble thimble is a game of accuracy similar to speed eraser. The game might look easy but completing the task within 60 seconds is not going to be, can bet on that.


Glass marbles need to be bounced into thimbles. The thimbles should be 15 millimetres in diameter, and must be done six times. Meaning you have 10 seconds per thimble. Whoever has most filled up thimble win.

19. Wet Ball

In this game those who keep it cool when under pressure usually win. They make use of a spraying can and a balloon. Remember that, with too much moisture on the balloons surface it can crash so this game tests patience. Its best played outdoor unless you are free to wet the venue.


Like I have said earlier, the aim of wet ball is to guide the floating balloon towards a waste bin by using only the water spray. 

20. High Roller

High roller is all about using centrifugal force to spin dice in a cup in an attempts to stack 4 dice three times in 60 seconds. The tricky thing about this game is that centrifugal force is hard to achieve because the dice are not round. Any teenagers that manage to get this challenge done should be given a big prize because of the difficulty!


When the player successfully gets 1 stack with the 4 dice within 60 seconds he/she wins the game.

21. Noodling Around

This would have been an easy game minute to win it game if linguini pasta was not so fragile. All you need here is the right amount of pressure as one single pasta is put inside the mouth, then it will be used to thread five pieces of penne-pasta in a row with none of them falling out and be careful not to break the linguini.


The first player that get 5 pieces of penne-pasta in a row wins the game.

22. Chocolate Unicorn

This is another pressure full game that requires a steady hand throughout. Here a player will be given seven chocolate snacks (ding-dongs), and all they need to do is stack each of them one on top of the other on their forehead. They just need to keep them balance so they hold and do not fall.


The player that stack the 7 chocolate snacks successfully first win the game.

23. Face the Cookie

Face the cookie seems easy when you first see people trying it but then you realize just how hard it is when it’s your turn. Face the cookie does not allow you to use any part of the body just your face. You are free to choose the best cookie to use for this game? Oreo of course, I guess.


Just place the cookie on the players’ forehead and they have to use their facial muscles to move it to their mouth and eat it. Whoever eats his cookie first win the game. 

24. Play It By Ear

In this game, the players need to listen carefully to different soda cans filled with different amounts of pennies and he/she will arrange them in order from the least amount to the highest. This is a very appealing game as one of the best minute to win it games for teens.


The person that get the closest correct guess arrangement wins the game. Do not forget that each person has 60 seconds to get this task complete.
